When BlackBerry was first launched, it came
forth as the perfect mobile business solution. BlackBerry understands business
needs and accordingly offers advanced security features and with latest
BlackBerry 10 operating based devices they have come up with bifurcations to
maintain the business and personal data separately with no interference of programs.
Blackberry business applications are
still relevant, but iOS and android business application are also making their mark.
If BlackBerry thought it was invincible, it
was proven wrong by Apple’s iPhone and Samsung’s Android smartphones that integrated
themselves just as well with business needs offering a host of applications
that provided complex business solutions, and at a smaller price. BlackBerry
could have done better if it had worked harder to match up to Android and iOS’
popularity rather than get complacent in its snug position as the businessman’s
handy device.
The BlackBerry Business Application
When the BB10 platform was launched,
BlackBerry revealed that the company will be releasing 70,000 applications and
parallel reports surfaced that Android and iOS were leading the market with
over 800,000 apps which would make BlackBerry offering seem negligible. Also,
most of these 70,000 apps are cross-platform apps that can be accessed on other OS devices too. Mobile application development companies no longer see any benefit
in manufacturing applications exclusively for blackberry as the other platforms
are doing just as well in the corporate sphere.
The Saving Grace
BlackBerry is now making some of its
in-house apps, popularly the BlackBerry Messenger available on other platforms
as well in a bid to save its floundering ship. It is a great business device
and is loved by other as well. The BlackBerry Z10 and the BlackBerry Q10 have
much to offer in terms of design, style and interface and the data security
offered by BlackBerry is still unmatched. However, it lacks the versatility of
Apple, Samsung or Sony devices.
BlackBerry has come a long way and revered
by all. In order to bounce back to its former glory, the device has to cut down
prices and offer better services to its users.
